KWSG Evacuates Illegal Dumpsites in Ilorin*




The Kwara State Government through the Ministry of Environment, has evacuated illegal refuse site at Budo Osho, along Jugdes' quarters, Tanke area in Ilorin.

This is part of the state government efforts to get  rid of illegal dumpsites in the state, most especially in Ilorin, the state capital.

The Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Remilekun Banigbe led the evacuation team to carry out the exercise at the weekend, during an inspection tour of the area to ascertain the level of refuse evacuation by the supervisor.


Banigbe, while addressing the supervisor in-charge of the project, Tpl. Babaolobi Adams, commended his effort at making the place a 'sight to behold' despite the aggravated waste dumped in the area.

According to her, "all hands must now be on deck to curb the act of indiscriminate dumping, as well as putting an end to the act of sabotaging government efforts in making sure that the state is free of dirts", the Commissioner said.

She lauded the State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for the proactive measures put in place to ensure that the state is conducive for all and sundry, being a leader who attaches paramount importance to the healthy living of his people.



In a related development, one Hamza Ladani of AbdulRazaq street, GRA, was apprehended for indiscriminate waste discharge during the inspection exercise and he would be sanctioned accordingly.
