Kwara govt arrests 300 for violating sanitation laws


300 people have been arrested in Kwara State for violating the state environmental sanitation laws.

Speaking with Journalists during the monitoring of the sanitation exercise ,the state Commissioner for Environment, Abosede Buraimoh said the arrest of the violators became necessary to put an end to environmental nuisance in the state.

According to her despite the sensitization programmes and publicity on the monthly sanitation exercise many of the residents failed to obey the laws.

Ms Buraimoh frowned at the act of indiscipline displayed by the residents over non compliance with the environmental sanitation laws, adding that all violators will be punished in accordance with the law.

She explained that the enforcement will continue to enable the residents understand the need to take care of their environment .

  4. Very many enforcement agents have cultivated the habit of collecting bribes from defaulting Kwara residents.
