The Osun state police command has arrested 48-year-old Pastor Taiwo Olaniyi and his 28-year-old wife, Kemi over the death of three persons in their Church during deliverance.

The suspects were said to be the owner of a Cherubim and Seraphim Church in Osogbo where they allegedly operate a trado-medical centre.

One of the deceased, Rasheedat Mufutau (58), was said to have been taken to the Church because she has diabetes.

Also, a 48-year-old woman, Anifowose Basira and a 9months old boy, Abdul-Rahman Afolabi, who was taken to the Church for healing, died thereafter.

The spokesperson of the police in Osun, SP Yemisi Opalola, who confirmed the incident, said the incident happened on June 28.

She explained that three persons were arrested but the third suspect was released because he was a church member.

"We are still investigating the matter to know the cause of their death. The third suspect had been released because he was just a church member. He was just in the church when police got there," Opalola stated.
