FG begins mop-up for COVID-19 Rapid

The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has commenced mop-up registration for the Covid-19 Rapid Response Register (RRR) project in the state. 

Mr Taiye Iliasu; Coordinator, Kwara State Operation Coordinating Unit (SOCU) – of the National Social Safety-Net Coordinating Office (NASSCO) disclosed this in Ilorin during the kickoff of the door-to-door sensitization campaign organized by Kwara SOCU and Local Government Community Development officers. 

According to Iliasu the mop-up exercise is designed to enable all target groups who could not register during the first and wave of the registration.

He stressed further that the project targets low-income earners, small business owners and other vulnerable groups in urban and semi urban areas who lost their sources of income due to the Covid-19 pandemic. 

The coordinator enjoined those who fall into this category but not been captured in the previous exercise to use the opportunity to apply to benefit from the Federal Government Covid -19 Shock Response Cash Transfers. 

Iliasu stated further that the registration which was already on going is free and done via dedicated USSD codes for designated 

Communities in the 16 Local Government Areas of the State.
