The Kwara State Government has reiterated its commitment to ensuring that the environment is hygienically safe for the citizens to curb the spread of diseases.
The Commissioner for Environment, Hon Abosede Olaitan Buraimoh stated this today during a general monitoring and supervision of waste evacuation by the waste contractors and the Kwara State Government Waste Management Special Intervention within the Ilorin metroplolis.
Buraimoh urged the waste contractors to be diligent in the discharge of their responsibilities.
She enjoined Kwarans to ensure a better and cleaner environment in order to be free from health hazards, adding that people should avoid indiscriminate dumping of refuse in their respective houses and business environments.
The Commissioner lauded the state government's giant strides in tackling environmental issues and for the special intervention for the state projects to be achieved.
Places toured during the inspection were: Emir's road, Balogun Fulani, Gambari, Ipata, Sango road among others.
