French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain have officially announced the sacking of their head coach Mauricio Pochettino after 18 months in charge of one of the best squads in the world.
Paris Saint-Germain sacked the former Tottenham Hotspur boss as they look to rebuild their team ahead of next season after Kylian Mbappe renewed his contract with them.
Recall that Mbappe has been a top target for Spanish giants Real Madrid but snubbed them in a shocking decision to renew his contract with PSG.
Now, the sacking of Mauricio Pochettino has shown that PSG are serious about winning the Champions League next season as they have also sacked their sporting director Leonardo.
Paris Saint-Germain’s new sporting director Luis Campos likes OGC Nice manager Christopher Galtier and he’s set to be announced as the new PSG coach.
What led to the sacking of Mauricio Pochettino?

Paris Saint-Germain has reportedly paid Mauricio Pochettino and his coaching staff which includes Miguel d’Agostino, Jesus Perez, Sebastian Pochettino, and Toni Jimenez the sum of €15 million as compensation.
However, PSG executives didn’t reveal why they sacked the Argentinian but his failure to win the UEFA Champions League is one of the reasons behind the decision.
Pochettino was given one of the best squads with the likes of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, Neymar Jr, and Sergio Ramos only to end up in the Champions League last 16.
The Argentinian also won the Coupe de France in the 2020-2021 season after taking over mid-season from Thomas Tuchel but lost the Ligue 1 title to Lille in the same season. He finally helped PSG to win Ligue 1 in the 2021-2022 season.
However, his domestic success was not enough to secure his job with Paris Saint-Germain ahead of the next season.
